GIS HomeActiveMap is an Interactive Mapping Application that enables the public to view General Plan Land Use, Zoning and many other land development related data sets for property within unincorporated Sonoma County over the Internet. Within the mapping application, there are three maps to choose between: Base, Zoning and General Plan. Each map provides different types of geographic data used in land use planning and land development. Users will be able to research many PRMD data sets for properties within unincorporated Sonoma County in a flexible, easy-to-use map-like product.

- The PRMD geographic information systems (GIS) staff serves the needs of County staff, Local, State and Federal government and the citizens and businesses of the County of Sonoma. Utilizing GIS technology, information regarding geographical elements (e.g. land, river, streets) and their relationships to one another can be visually displayed (for review) and analyzed.
- The GIS section is the nucleus of PRMD’s network, managing and administrating land use datasets, software and technology. The ultimate goal of PRMD’s GIS staff is to implement innovative ideas to develop, maintain and provide accurate geographical information in an effort to facilitate land development planning and determinations, while fostering efficient business practices and better decision making.
- Additionally, our GIS products and services aid PRMD’s staff decision and policymaking processes, and seek to improve the livelihood of the citizens of Sonoma County.
